Wallpaper notes
Choose the look.
Understand the paper.
The picture on a sample is only part of the story. Material, repeat, surface requirements and care can change how the covering belongs in a room.

Note 01 · Material
What is the
covering made of?
Traditional paper, pre-pasted material and self-adhesive panels do not necessarily share an installation method. Read the specific product instructions instead of treating all rolls as interchangeable.
Textured materials and natural fibers can have variation between panels. That may be an intentional part of the look rather than something that disappears during installation. A mural may arrive as a defined panel sequence instead of a repeating roll.
Before ordering, understand the product’s expected appearance, wall requirements and care guidance. An installation conversation can help identify the questions to put to the manufacturer or supplier.

Note 02 · Pattern
A repeat changes
more than the rhythm.
The repeat affects how adjacent strips match and how much material a layout may need. Large motifs, offset matches and the room’s openings can create requirements beyond simply dividing wall area by roll coverage.
Think about what will be visible after furniture, shelving or fixtures are in place. A design that works beautifully on a broad wall can read very differently in a narrow recess.
At installation, the starting point and plumb layout help guide the pattern around the room. Real corners and ceilings are not always perfectly square, so the plan has to consider the space rather than follow every edge blindly.
Note 03 · Surface
A stable wall
is part of the design.
Wallpaper needs a clean, dry, sound surface compatible with the chosen product. Residual paste, loose paint, heavy texture and uneven areas can affect adhesion or show through the covering.
A suitable primer may be relevant for some traditional installations. Paint curing and surface finish rules vary by product, especially for self-adhesive materials. There is no one waiting period or universal primer recommendation for every wallcovering.
Moisture, leaks or unstable surfaces should be addressed before installation. Paper is a finish, not a repair for an unresolved building problem.
Note 04 · Self-adhesive
Peel-and-stick
still has a specification.
No separate paste step can make a product feel simple, but placement and surface suitability still matter. Follow the selected manufacturer’s guidance for paint finish, texture and curing.
Do not assume “removable” means damage-free on any painted wall. Test and care guidance belongs to the specific material; removing one product successfully does not prove another will behave the same way.

A few things
worth asking.
Can I call before choosing the wallpaper?
Yes. Tell us what you want the room to feel like and ask about the installation considerations. A first conversation does not require a product name, photographs or a detailed brief. The actual product instructions will matter when the scope is discussed.
Is peel-and-stick suitable for every painted wall?
No. Self-adhesive wallpaper may have restrictions on paint finish, texture or curing. Read the specific manufacturer’s surface guidance. A removable label does not guarantee clean removal from every painted surface.
Why does a pattern repeat affect the amount of wallpaper?
Matching adjacent strips can require material beyond the wall’s measured area, particularly with larger or offset repeats. Doors, corners and strong motifs also influence the layout. A mural may instead use a specific numbered panel sequence.
Can wallpaper go over the existing covering?
That depends on the product and the wall beneath it; it is not a safe assumption. Loose seams, uneven layers and adhesive compatibility can affect a new finish. Discuss removal and the condition of the underlying surface before deciding.
What changes an installation estimate?
Area, ceiling height, room features, access, existing coverings, preparation and the product itself can all affect the work. A project with removal or repairs has a different scope from installation on a suitable prepared surface. Confirm price and scope directly with us.
Can I ask about a visit or professional measurements?
Yes. Call to discuss your project and ask whether an on-site consultation, wall inspection or measurements can be arranged. Availability and arrangements must be confirmed; a visit is not automatically included or guaranteed.
